Volunteer Opportunities - Gifts of Time

INDEPENDENT PROJECTS

Leaders: Can you motivate others? You can create and lead a drive for needed items for homeless families. Such drives include: baby items, non-perishable food, toiletries, holiday gifts, and bathroom starter kits. You can get your school, church, friends, and local community involved by planning a drive.

BEHIND-THE-SCENES PROJECTS

Volunteer Office Assistant: Do you like office work? Need office experience? If you do, we have an immediate need for volunteers to help us on a few office projects. read more on how to volunteer >

Organizers: We have donations of household items and we could use the help to sort through and shelve all the items at our main office in Martinez. This project is good for both small and big groups.

For the Active: Projects such as painting, landscaping, cleaning, and helping to furnish units for families that are moving are needed throughout the year.

PROJECTS WITH CHILDREN

These types of projects are held on-site at our shelter locations or at various field trip locations. We plan events for the children that live at our sites to enrich their lives. The projects include: movie days, picnics, trips to Build-a-Bear Workshop, sports games, the Jungle, arts and crafts days, museums, and holiday parties. We need chaperones for the children to help share their experience.

We have a current need for a Children's Activity Coordinator at our transitional housing center. read more >
