Beth's Story
When we did a walk through of our new home, we could tell right away that there was love from people that cared us even without knowing who we where. I would like to say thank you for all that you have done for all of us at SHELTER, Inc.'s Pittsburg Housing Center. You have giving all of us a chance to start over and to do it right, not only for us but also for our children.  You have given us a home that we can feel safe in.  You have given our kids to have a new school to walk to and a place for them to play and know that they will be safe.  You have given us a new outlook on life and drive to succeed for the better.  

I would like to say thank you. Thanks for your time and effort you all have placed in our family.  We will never forget the chance you have given us to better our lives and the lives of our children.

Karen's Story
Thank you for all your help and support that you gave to my family during our time of need. I am a proud parent of two who tries to do right for my kids. I contacted your program for help paying for rent. During this time I was going through some hardship and really needed someone to help me. After going through several program looking for support I was beginning to give up hope. Until I came into contact with your program and through this program the help I needed was granted. I would like to thank all who made helping us possible. To this program I am so thankful. The program helped us from getting evicted and kept me and my kids off the streets. A special thanks to my case manager who dealt with my case.Thank you once again.

Sarah's Story
I don't think that 'Thank You' is truly enough for all that you have done for me. This last year has been the single greatest personal growth period in my life thus far. I am happy to report that I am very delighted with the person I have become - even proud of myself at times. I am certainly proud of the fact that my children have their mom back and that she seemingly has what it takes to be a role model after all. You reminded me that I have to be strong not only for myself, but for my kids as well, reminded me of the reality of my life when it was easier to look away from it. You gave me what I so desperately needed, a helping hand. I know the biggest compliment for you would be that I "made it", and I will not let you down. The expectations you have for me. I view my life now in terms of accomplishments. I am so very excited about my life's direction now. When I think of my life a year ago, I cannot believe I have come this far. It would have never been possible without the help from SHELTER, Inc. The help I was graciously given changed my life forever. My three small children were also very much affected by this change and they are also very thankful. SHELTER, Inc. did not just help, but gave me back by dignity and returned to me the most important thing to my - my family.

Norma's Story
My name is "Norma". About six months ago I was in need of financial help (desperate help!). Thanks to SHELTER, Inc. and your funds, that help became a reality and a way up and out for me. Because of my lack of living skills I came to SHELTER, Inc., asked for help, sought out solutions and guidance and received with humility and gratitude the help I so desperately needed. Thanks and appreciation to you for preventing homelessness for my beautiful daughter and myself. I am forever grateful. Thank you to my case manager who so patiently listened and directed me.
